Inspiration & Doormats

July 30th, 2010

My friend Mojan has rejoined the blogging world (welcome back, we missed you), and as always…has inspired me!

First, to try to pull my personal blog out of plain & ugly-land, and redesign it…alas that will have to wait until the new HD-Creative blog is finished (stay-tuned), and when I have a few less paying jobs.

Second, to share my love of design! I spend all kinds of time looking at examples and inspiration online when I’m working on projects. Currently, I am obsessed with doormats. Doormats?, you ask? Oh yes, especially these…oh, and these! I want.

The daring KRISTI & I on the flying trapeze…

July 26th, 2010

I can officially say I have tried the flying trapeze. Check. Kristi & I made our way to Emerald City Trapeze Arts this afternoon to try something new! It was scary at first, and REALLY hard, but alot of fun and a great experience…and we’re gonna be sore tomorrow. Hopefully I can get the photos off the camera!

Priceless

Ruby (age 6) asked her mom how big she thought her boobs are going to be when she grows up. After some discussion Lucy (age 5) decides hers are going to be like Auntie Heathers.

(Good choice Lucy, I’ll take that as a compliment!)

Though I have no gardening skills AT ALL I found myself deep in the world of the author’s experience of feeding their family on food they had grown themselves or obtained locally. It’s inspiring and eye-opening. Though not everyone lives in a place where you can feed your entire family on the fruits of your garden labor, or has time to make their own cheese, there are little things we can do (simply knowing where your food comes from) that can start to change the way America eats, and lead to a healthier, safer future.

P.S. Watch Food Inc. too!

Sexy & Sixty

March 18th, 2010

Luckily this blog posting is the only this that is belated in wishing mom a happy 60th birthday. It was a week full of fun, friends & surprises. And who could turn 60 without getting their very own set of custom-made Brian Williams Day of the Week Panties!?

All Dogs Go To Heaven

March 2nd, 2010

He is gone from our sight, but not from our memory.
Gone from our hearing, but never our hearts.
Gone from our touch, but his presence is felt,
The love that he gave us never departs.
